Hide-A-Squirrel: Zuko needs remedial class

After seeing the fun Betsy and Kit had with the Hide-A-Squirrel, I was eager to get one for Zuko! I finally found them at George, here in SF.

According to the box, I was suppose to let Zuko torment the squirrels first. I guess this helps him get a taste for squirrel stuffing and make him eager to dig them out of the tree stump. So - OK. Step one worked well:

Step two: hide squirrels in tree trunk. I also buried a treat in the bottom so it would smell delicious to Zuko. As you can see below, he is going to have to attend remedial Squirrel Hunting class.

  1. It's ok. Betsy needed remedial help too. She managed to tear the tree stump apart. Meticulous, that girl. She's figured out how to look for seams and diligently work her way into stuffing! Kit was a pro at finding squirrels!

  2. Thanks Gina! Zuko will be glad to hear he's not the only one. We came back into the living room tonight after dinner and he apparently declared squirrel war - they were all out of the tree trunk! Yeah Zuko!

  3. My Sakie...she couldn't figure out how to get the squirrels out. She enjoys carrying the stump around to get our attention. Oh well.

  4. Hi Anon and Sakie! Thanks for the post and the reassurance. Zuko seemed to think biting harder on the tree stump would help. Sometimes, I wish I could bite things too when I'm frustrated. :-)

  5. So cute! He's trying!

We had an intellibone and same thing happened. Couldn't figure out how to get the rings off the bone but loved playing with the rings individually. We only buy Shio puzzle toys that can hold treats. For some reason, he's much more motivated to solve puzzles when there's food involved. Big surprise. Haha.

  6. Hi Ting! It's me, Prince Zuko. Tell Shio I say "hai" and that we Shibas need not explain the complexity of our intellect to our people. Woof! I didn't want those squirrels. Well, not really. OK - sorta. I gotz them later. I was just waitin' for the right moment when they wuz sleepin.

  7. Tell your mum that you want the real deal and not stuffed squirrels!

PS Shio says "hai" too. :)
